THE PROFESSOR AND YOUR RIVAL

I'm not an artist, but I tried my best with these drawings here, and I'm proud of them, truly, the first much more than the second, though.
Professor Aspen is one goofball of a Pokémon professor, but one with dreams simpler than what was imposed unto her. She was born into a family of researchers, but she, herself would've much rather grown up to be a baker, a nurse, anything, really. She is often criticized for her apparent disinterest when it comes to science and advance of knowledge. Does she even care? Instead, she spends most of her time gardening, baking and contributing to her immediate local village. A lot of her pears take issue with her lifestyle. We're at an arms race for knowledge, you see?
According to many people, she doesn't take the responsibility of being a Pokémon professor seriously enough. However, given the lack of alternatives, and the pressure she feels, Aspen has not once even considered stepping down from her role. She does the bare minimum: Helping up-and-coming trainers and the like, but her contributions to the field of research are exactly equal to none.
Her son, Sunny, in contrast lives in his pyjamas. That's what happens when one is too obsessed with the pedantries of Pokémon relations and a dream of international recognition as the world's leading Pokémon researcher. He is your rival.
